NOTE: Jesus withstood the 3 temptations of Satan by quoting Scripture each time.

Dr. Donald Gray Barnhouse, minister of the 10thPresbyterian Church of Philadelphia - answered all questions given him by the Scriptures also. His questioners asked him - “Can't you answer our questions by telling us what youthink? Do you have to quote Scripture for all of your answers?” He replied, “Why should I lower myself to my own level of answer, when I can give you each time an eternal answer?”

Satan cannot withstand our answers from the Word of God. We should be like Jesus and Dr. Barnhouse.

4:12-16 - Wherever Jesus went - therelight shone forth! And when webecome like Paul in Galatians 2:20 - “I have been crucified with Christ; and no longer Ilive, but Christ lives in me: and what I now live in theflesh I live by faith which is in the Son of :God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.”- thenthe light of Jesus within us shines forth enlightening those who hear us.

George Whitefield was of this caliber. Perhaps America has had no other evangelist who so powerfully manifested the light of Jesus. It was his custom to spend 4-5 hours daily kneeling before his Bible, reading aloud, praying over it, and meditating upon it. Then when he preached in Boston, Benjamin Franklin found that he could stand on the outskirts of a crowd of 20-30,000, and hear him clearly! God gave Whitefield a projecting voice long before P.A. systems. Though Franklin did not become a convert - yet he was so powerfully influenced by his friendship with George Whitefield - that the light of hat friendship permeated into Franklin's influence in the founding of our nation and its constitution.

Is not thisa practical application to understand and explain the wisdom manifested by Franklin with our Founding Fathers? J.A.W.
